Seems like this idea of a third regional/divisional championship is one that most on here are agreeable to. It will be difficult to implement and would require widespread discussion. But I think everyone knows its the only way forward as well as still maintaining the integrity of our current club championship and hopefully slowing the decline of football in rural areas in leitrim.

Correct. It may not have been clear in my original post.
As someone has mentioned already Declan Bohan appears to have recognised the disaster that is looming. Hopefully he's not the only one in the County board. As squareball has said, it can be done.

Fenagh fortunate to win yesterday evening Aughawillan will feel they left that one behind them. Mary's always in control against Leitrim Gaels who probably happy enough to stay up considering the turnover of players. Two great Semi finals to look forward I assume they will be played in Ballinamore as will the final?

Were it a Ballinamore - Fenagh final it would surely be played in Cloone.

I know it's unlikely, but anything is possible.
What would happen if St Mary's B were to win Intermediate?
Would this affect the number of teams relegated from Senior?

Next year's championships will likely be far more competitive and hard to call with 3 teams relegated from senior and intermediate, aughavas will be extremely hard done by if they're relegated but that's how it goes

I believe that the runner up represents us in connacht and one team is saved from relegation. So my assumption there is only the relegation semi final losers go down, no final needed. Probably wishful thinking though!
