The very same can be said for the woke left if you disagree with their views your a fascist. If the woke left get their way they would be every bit as dangerous to societies as the far-right both are as horrible as each other.

Replying To DUALSUPPORT:  "There is nothing wrong with Andrew Neil lads he is a very intelligent and informative journalist. While I don't agree with all his views but he doesn't care if facts, the truth and logical views on certain subjects hurt the leftie snow-flakes feelings.

RTE would do very well to have him but he wouldn't suit the stations left-wing agenda."
Politics is no more than a smoke screen, it's a variable, something like political correctness, day to day politics is reasonable enough, but when we get bogged down in terminology's like, Left - wing, Far - left, centre - left, centre, Radical - centre, centre - right, right - wing, far - right, etc, etc, etc, we're in serious trouble and that's the way the creators of "fragmented politics" want it, the buzz word is "confusion". That sort of politics is not imo applicable to RTE.

In my humble opinion RTE is akin to a very large family, that has seen bad times and good times and for now the bad times are back, back at a time when not only is Mother Irelands economy on its knees but so too is the world's economy on its knees, in the meantime back to the large family that was once a gentry of its own making,

Mother Hen doesn't want the family to go into self-destruct, so she applies to the state for financial help and gets it but alas it's not enough, for the moment no more is coming, so she tells some of the family that they have to leave the home and find work else-where, sometime the wrong family members had to leave but that's life, from the outside looking in it was all ecstatically pleasing shall we say, for now the remaining family appear to have settled down and are happy enough for the moment.

Like most families in financial difficulties hard choices have to be made complete with ecstatic's , bound in political wrappings, couriered to the appropriate Minister for his / her attention. Then signed off, - - the cycle of life starts over again.

This is such a strange post and so wrong. You can have multiple flags up to represent different things. Everything isnt equal.
You can be a fan of more integration(immigration) and understand the issues that have arisen from where large immigration has caused problems.
How has hatred for all things christian/jewish.
You are so wrong to say anyone who opposes views is labelled racist/facist

Come off it, Ryan Tubridy, Ray D'arcy, Claire Byrne and Miriam O'Callaghan are very bias towards the left and left-wing views. I'll admit the previous generation of RTE presenters like Gay Byrne(although he left himself down very badly with his Annie Murphy interview), Marian finucane and John Bowman were in fairness to them balanced in the way they conducted their programmes but these new generation of presenters on rte pander to a left agenda. I guarantee the next presenter to be head-hunted by RTE will be Matt Cooper.

What's so immature about the term snow-flake just another term for the over-sensitive to be offended by.

No theyre not. Darcy certainly isnt very biased towards left wing.
Matt Cooper wont be head hunted onto RTE. Bar occasional shows his tv and radio work have always been tv3 with today fm....
And using term snow-flake is childish as its an empty label and not at all true.

I put my views on a public forum I have no problem with people disagreeing and engaging in debate with them as long as people are respectful, when people go around throwing gib insults and personal attacks at me for having an different opinion to them then I have a problem.

If you want my own definition of a snow-flake is someone who is easy offended and puts political-correctness, emotions and feelings before facts, truths and logical thinking on matters social and political.

Tubridy and O'Callaghan are from FF families. D'Arcy is a light entertainment broadcaster, and Claire Byrne is anything but biased.

As soon as you use the word "snowflake" you've lost all credibility in a conversation. It's a laughable term. Being offended by someone supposedly being offended. Give over, use your big boy words.

As for Tubridy he kisses the behind of every left-wing celebrity on the late late show and his boot-licking interviews with the likes of Bob Geldolf are cringe-worthy the way he panders to them and he sets-up and ambushes someone like Peter Casey for telling an inconvenient truth that the left dont like.

From I have seen of Miriam O'Callaghan and the odd time I have watched Claire Byrne, figures from the right aren't treated with the same respect as figures from the left.

Same for D'arcy especially from his time with todayfm, he was involved in 1 of the most unprofessional incidents on irish radio when he asked one of the Healy Rea's on to debate drink driving laws (which I disagree 100% with the Healy Rea's on) and he hung up on him in the middle of the interview.

Hate of things christian and Jewish might be a bit strong to put it but the left certainly don't hold Islam to the same ethical standards as to other religions. Even liberal analysts such as Bill Maher, Sam Harris and the late Christopher Hitchens have often called out the left on this.

Fair enough and more than likely at the moment RTE probably wouldn't have the funds to recruit Matt Cooper. If RTE get their ducks in order financially, look it's my own belief that they will try to recruit Matt Cooper because he suits their political spectrum.

It totally disproves and lessens any point you make.
Its not at all about people on the left getting outraged. its about "young adults deemend less capable of taking criticism"
And using it in the context its being used here is completely wrong.
Tubridy doesnt at all show that kind of bias. And he criticised peter casey who expressed very bigoted views.

No chance of that happening. When has he ever been on TV on RTE. Its nearly always been tv3 etc. Dont see that changing any time soon. why would he leave Today FM and tv3 when he can go from his 4.30-7 radio show then tv3 late night show.

Dualsport. For me a snowflake isn't left or right or centre or whatever you're having. It's someone who goes out of their way to be offended and root out what they see as the offensive terms in an argument and completely ignore someone elses point of view. At least if someone is left or right they have a stance on something and might even be admired even if you strongly disagree with their beliefs and opinions. Snowflake is a bit unfair to someone who could have mental issues maybe, though was there as much mental stress before social media? There are those people who believe that posting Black Lives matter or Save Paris banners on Facebook after a terrorist attack will change extreme views and actions, it won't. That's as much activism as they'll be involved in and they'll take offence if you suggest that all lives matter. They're best ignored. I've no time for organised religion and every religion has genuinely devout well meaning respectful people and a minority of wrongdoers who give them a bad name. The media will skew people's opinions by sensationalising the bad stuff. I think in Ireland a leftie, or bearded leftie as they were sometimes known, is a socialist who genuinely works for better rights and conditions for the working class. Not many of them in RTE. A bunch of public servants living on taxpayers money and offering very little new or creative.

I know exactly what your saying to me, it's just a personal hunch of mine and it does seem unlikely but RTE have recruited Claire Byrne from TV3 and a good lot of the RTE news-reporters came originally from TV3 also and it would have seemed unlikely that Ray D'arcy would have left today fm too before it happened but money talks as they say. In the present it definitely won't happen but i wouldn't be too surprised if it happened in the future.
