National - Overseas training

and x player from 70s just asked me a good question, with so many county teams going on these overseas training trips, how much money are the gaa allowing counties to spend abroad? how many hours work would be provided for irish workers if these teams had to spend their training days on irish soil? how much money would it be worth to irish hotels at a slack time of the year? surly this should be priorty for gaa

If Irish hotels are struggling, it's mainly down to their bloated prices and little to do with the GAA. Though some county boards (my own included) may be better off rationalising their spending somewhat.

Probably cheaper to take a team to Portugal for a week than take then somewhere in Ireland. The warm weather and privacy also is e benefit when abroad.

Thought Id mention it met up a fair few Mayo lads at a county game last week , a comment in discussion that I am not in a position to say one way or the other was said in my company , that Mayo county board couldn't give a shi7 about any team minor under 17s nothing bar current senior team the be all and end all , the Mayo supporter went onto say Board would want to remember that that team wont last forever and they should not be taking their eye off what's coming behind , other lads in his company did not take offence or disagree.
